Activities

There’s lot to do for residents or Rehab patients at Mount St. Joseph. Every day, our Activities Staff provides an activity in the morning at 10 and another at 2 pm. These activities help to keep people as healthy, alert and as independent as possible.  At Mount St. Joseph we engage our residents’ minds, bodies and spirits.

Our activities are designed to:

  • Promote quality of life by providing cognitive challenges using games, lifelong learning classes, community interaction and more.
  • Inspire creativity through the arts, music, drama and dance.
  • Encourage socialization by building community among peers. Intergenerational activities are also held every month throughout the school year and holidays.
  • Provide spiritual opportunities for spiritual renewal through the Rosary, Bible study and retreats.
  • Build stamina through physical activities such as exercise, stretches, competitions, games and chair dancing.

Once a month, we bring in live entertainment from some of the greatest talents in our area, including Big Band and Rock and Roll. Once a month, we have a Birthday Party to honor all of this month’s birthday residents. Our coffee club allows residents to enjoy hot coffee and a snack while taking part in the activity of their choice, such as playing trivia, reading the newspaper and reviewing current events.  All residents and patients are welcome to enjoy a movie shown on a big screen in the Activity Room every Sunday.
